Neck – Arm Syndrome

When the neck hurts, there are times that the arm, hand, and even the fingers hurt. The pain flows from the neck to the arm, the hand and fingers which creates the “neck-arm syndrome”

There are many reasons that the neck will hurt but the foremost reason is high cholesterol. In this instance, the back bend of the neck to the back of the head will hurt. Secondly, the neck disc prolapsed and cervical vertebra degeneration causes pressure on the cervical nerve which in turn causes headaches.

If the C6-7 or the T1-2 nerve feels pressure from either disc prolapse or degeneration, the neck and shoulders will hurt and the pain will travel down to the arm, hand or even the fingers.

Thirdly, when the neck hurts upon waking up, its cause is bad sleep posture and/or the temperature which caused the cold to enter through the neck.

Fourthly, liver yang uprising. this is induced high blood pressure or if liver yang goes up to the head; turbid energy and turbid blood could be stagnant which causes pain.
