External pathogenic diseases are treated with Acupuncture needling, Moxibustion, Cupping and Chinese herbal medicine based on the book  The Foundation of Chinese Medicine.

Diseases/syndromes of the hands, feet, arms, legs, neck, waist, arthritis and tendons will be treated with Dongjingchang Acupuncture.

Moving Qi for pain or numbness via Acupuncture is achieved by accessing the opposite side or furthest from the problematic area (remote points) which are then needled and causes the pain/numbness to dissipate. More than 30% of my patients have 100% effectiveness.

Leading Acupuncture – One acupuncture needle is inserted on a point that leads to the remote points and points that effectively treat the specified diseased area.

Binding acupuncture – The distal points of the body are the beginning and ending points of the 12 meridians. Therefore, it has a strong treatment efficacy. Mostly, the strongest treatment points are located below the elbows and knees. One point location is needled and 1-2 additional points will be needled either above, below or on the sides to make the treatment stronger.

Moxibustion Therapy – Moxibustion treatment is used for the prevention of disease and the longevity of health. It is applied directly to areas of pain or paralysis for treating other diseases with treatment points. It has good results if applied on old diseases that are not easily treated. Additionally, Moxibustion is far more effective than acupuncture for diseases that are associated with cold Zang Fu. Indirect Moxibustion can lead to scarring (1/100%) so instead ultrasound or infrared therapy can be used as a replacement therapy. Diseases that cannot be easily cured or for old chronic diseases, Moxibustion is highly effective. Moxibustion is used and recommended with information provided at this clinic. Please note that this procedure will not be performed unless the patient agrees and requests for the Moxibustion therapy.

Cupping Therapy – Cupping therapy is a supplemental method so it is combined with Acupuncture treatment and is not provided as a sole method of treatment. Cupping is not performed on edema, wounds, or skin related diseases.

Cupping with bloodletting and blood pricking needling – Bloodletting treatment is used in conjunction to Acupuncture needling to release minimal amounts of blood which is an important method of treating pain at this clinic. The method of treatment is using a short disposable needle to prick a vein to release small drops of bad blood. The needle is 1-2 mm in length and enclosed in a plastic sterile cap which needs to be removed. It is then used to prick the skin several times. The skin pores become enlarged and there is a risk for bacteria to enter and cause infection. The patient needs to pay close attention to hygiene and maintain cleanliness if being treated with cupping with bloodletting. Therefore, at this clinic, apart from pain due to blood stasis, cupping with bloodletting is not performed.

Introduction of Donjingchang – Dr Dongjingchang (1916-1975) was born in Shandongxing, Pingduxuan, Shandong Province, China in 1916 and developed and refined Acupuncture techniques that was passed down from his ancestors. For 40 years, he treated over 40,000 patients and volunteered to treat in Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines and even Los Angeles. In particular, he treated hemiplegia of Cambodia’s President and also received a decoration of award from Taipei’s President Jiang Jieshi.

He died in Taipei in 1975 and Master Tong’s Acupuncture techniques gained popularity after his death. Once he was recognized as a brilliant Acupuncturist and many people want to learn the techniques but it is difficult.
